Norwich Community Solar is a community energy social enterprise and community benefit organisation. Our mission is to develop clean energy by installing and advising on distributed energy resources such as photovoltaics and storage systems. We are focussed on a vision to transform the energy system by making it more equitable for local communities to engage through buying, selling and storing the clean energy they create with our help. We do this by installing and maintaining solar panels on eligible buildings, and also power storage systems that will levereage the value from surplus power. The owners of theses buildings will receive favourable power prices through our supplier agreements that will help to reduce fuel poverty and increase efficiency by avoiding the need to transmit the power from distant sources. We will encourage community engagement by offering shared ownership of our energy assets and offer better returns on their investments than currently available in the banking system. Other benefits will be returned to communities as our funds allow. We work with other organisations like Renergy and Pixie Energy to create our shared vision of a more equitable, greener, distributed and resilient local energy system. We are open to collaboration with other like minded organisations.
