Enumclaw School District LinkedIn
www.enumclaw.wednet.eduNestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains lie the beautiful towns of Enumclaw and Black Diamond. In many respects, these communities could be throwbacks to what most Americans might consider ideal towns of the 1950/60s. Unlike many other cities in the Puget Sound area, Enumclaw and Black Diamond have kept their small town flavor and community commitment to educational excellence and civic involvement. Enumclaw School District #216 was organized in 1887, and has provided nearly 120 years of education opportunities for students living within the boundaries of some 444 square miles. The district is experiencing moderate decline and, as of May 2014, has a current student population of 4,288, who are served in five elementary schools (Black Diamond, Byron Kibler, Southwood, Sunrise and Westwood), two middle schools (Enumclaw and Thunder Mountain) and Enumclaw High School. Included in the district are the cities of Enumclaw, Black Diamond and several unincorporated communities.
