We envision the future electric power grid to be one with four important characteristics: 1) Cyber-physical, 2) Decentralized, 3) Power Electronics, and 4) Measurements. The vision will require diverse disciplines including power systems, power electronics, data analytics, cyber security, and resiliency as well socio-economic and policy making sciences.
