IK Aid and Relief Enterprise (IKARE) Ltd
www.ikinvest.comIKARE Ltd (pronounced “ I care”) is a venture philanthropy operated charity whose main donor since launch in 2006 is the private equity firm IK Investment Partners. We see our role mainly as a catalyst for change, working closely together, over a number of years, with a limited number of strong social entrepreneurs in developing, testing, fine-tuning and thereby de-risking innovative models for dealing with some of the root causes of poverty. In so doing, we typically focus on strengthening both the capacity of our “investees” as well as the local health services delivery infrastructures for measurable sustainable impact and systemic change through local engagement and ownership. Through our current engagements with the 3 V Vets Franchise in Northern Uganda, Shifo Foundation/MyChild Solution in Dokolo District Uganda and in the Gambia, as well as the Kampala slum WASH pilots with the SSPP (Student Support Philanthropy Programme) we look to mainly address the following SDGs: 3, 6 and 1 with focus on sub-Saharan Africa and including job creation (SDG 8) wherever possible.
