Dimitris Parthenis opened his first store in Athens in 1970. The next venture in 1978 was in Mykonos, a great source of inspiration for the designer, but also the stepping stone for international fame. Vast exporting activity of his creations in Europe and the USA reached its peak with the opening of flagship stores in Brussels and Los Angeles. In the mid 80’s the Parthenis brand had conquered the Greek market and the designer was considered an innovator in his field. Today the Parthenis look remains timeless and simple with a unisex easy-living feel and a pure elegant Greek aesthetic. Orsalia Parthenis continues her father’s tradition in the creation of “chic sportif” based on the same concept and quality evoking a bohemian mood. Using natural fibers, wool, silk and cotton, a relaxed silhouette which hugs the body the Parthenis line is constantly refreshed while remaining true to its essence. Since the year 2000, Orsalia Parthenis has also established a children’s collection, minimal@orsalia.parthenis, sharing the Parthenis philosophy. The children’s collection covers ages from toddlers to pre-teens, offers extreme durability and has a playful mood especially when it comes to colours and accessories. With an absolute focus on retail, the brand distributes its creations only through a chain of its own stores – two in Athens, one in Mykonos, Thessaloniki and Crete, seeking the extension of the chain and its points of sale via a franchise network beginning in Patra in Decemberr 2007.
