Foundation for Fortitude is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity that provides scholarships, mentoring, and educational programs to young college women in the Jacksonville area. In 2017, scholarships for those that participated in the program were awarded in the amount of $1,500 each. Educational modules included Dress for Success, Goal Setting, Responsible Social Media and Online Reputation, as well as Networking Skills for Career Growth, and more. Fundraisers in 2017 included the Inaugural Foundation for Fortitude Charity Golf Tournament, Charity Pancake Breakfast with Applebee's, a Social Event Celebrating the Foundation called the Pure White Affair, and other efforts. The Mayor of Jacksonville honored Foundation for Fortitude by issuing a Proclamation for April 28, 2017 naming it the Day of the Ultimate Successful Woman. Demand for entry into the program currently outweighs funding, so the Board of Directors is busy seeking corporate supporters, and grants that position with the mission of Foundation for Fortitude.
