Arivva - Pierce Center for Arts & Technology

www.arivva.org

To transform Pierce County by connecting high school students and adults-in-transition to the opportunities and environment they need to build a better future for themselves, their families, and our community. Arivva is affiliated with the National Center for Arts & Technology and an expanding network of centers across the US that adapt the proven Manchester Bidwell Educational Model to meet the needs of local communities. The model has four essential components: visual arts programs for high school youths, demand‐driven training for unemployed and transitioning young adult workers, a facility designed to uplift the human spirit, and a culture that promotes dignity and respect of all individuals. With plans to locate in the Parkland/Spanaway area, we are excited for the opportunity to interact with neighboring Pierce County communities that currently lack resources, including South Tacoma and Lakewood, and additional communities in unincorporated Pierce County. Too many residents of these communities experience high rates of poverty, above average unemployment, and low levels of educational attainment. Our location in Parkland will be accessible by public transit, allowing residents of these underserved communities to have access to exceptional education and career training. We cannot do this work alone. Arivva is seeking time, talent, and treasures. Your volunteer support will enable us to open our doors and provide pathways for educational and employment opportunities in Pierce County. Contact us at info@arivva.org.
