The Institute of Politics delivers timely information about the major policy issues affecting our region to elected officials and community leaders - and the public whom they serve - while providing a nonpartisan forum where that knowledge and associated diverse viewpoints are shared, synthesized, and applied to the goal of promoting the quality of life and economic vitality of western Pennsylvania. The Institute's programming strategy includes two criteria: -Public and elected officials will assist with the development and implementation of all programs. -All programs will be tailored to involve a policy impact or outcome. The Institute is currently working on the following initiatives: -Criminal Justice -DIck Thornburgh Forum for Law and Public Policy -Elsie Hillman Civic Forum -Future of Policing -Lead -Opioid Overdose Epidemic -Small Business Development -Strengthening Relationships in Education -Tom Murphy Case Study
