Siliconsultant is a division of Geolite. We provide consulting services in silicon crystal growth and materials science. Small-scale facilities are on hand for crystal growth of silicon by float zoning (FZ), Czochralski growth (CZ) and directional solidification (DS) techniques. These techniques can be useful for silicon materials evaluation. We also can provide lab-scale tests of new concepts for silicon solidification. The company founder has originated many techniques used in silicon processing, including electromagnetic continuous casting (EMC), string ribbon growth/edge-supported pulling (ESP), high-minority-lifetime, gallium-doped float-zoned silicon, among others, and was the first to grow and publish results on EFG growth of silicon ribbons (in 1972) and silicon tubes. We've worked with over 20 companies in the past 7 years on silicon growth and defect issues.
