Link Vision Ltd
www.linkvision.org.auLink Vision Ltd (formerly Aid for the Blind, Qld) has operated since 1968 and is a charity which provides services for those with Low or No Vision. Services include: 1. Provision of supported low cost accommodation to our residents 2. Provision of vision-specific computer training at no cost to students Link Vision's goal is to assist residents and students to lead independent lives, engage in meaningful work and be an integral part of mainstream society. We are a self-funded not-for-profit organisation which relies heavily on funds generated from six Op Shops in South East Queensland and donations from generous organisations and individuals in order to continue and expand our work. We manage and maintain 40 independent living units in Fairfield Brisbane. Our in-school mentoring program aids students with Low or No Vision to become familiar with, and master keyboard skills. As computer skills are now an integral part of a child's learning environment, Link Vision recognises that a computer mentoring program, using voice to text technology is the most beneficial. Our program, using experienced tutors, aims to provide this service to as many Low and No Vision students as possible. Demand for our services continues to be very high and Link Vision is committed to growth in our services to meet that demand.
