Summer University of Jyväskylä was founded in 1912 and is the oldest of Finnish summer universities. Summer University of Jyväskylä organizes courses and trainings throughout the year, including vocational training, open university and language courses. Summer University of Jyväskylä also hosts the University of 3rd Age and Children's University of Jyväskylä. Our main principle is to offer a possibility for lifelong learning, and to encourage people to strengthen their already existing expertise. Summer University courses are open to everyone regardless of age, background and previous education. Summer University of Jyväskylä supports the realization of the principles of psychical welfare and educational equality. Summer University of Jyväskylä is a politically, religiously and ideologically independent organization.
