Vision: CIC is the premier senior national security educational institution focused on the information environment. CIC is the desired educator of leaders who perform national and military actions within the cyberspace domain using the information instrument of national power. About: Our school was originally established in 1965 as the Department of Defense Computer Institute (DODCI) and then in 1988 transitioned to become the Information Resources Management College (IRMC), and later it was known as the iCollege. In the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), it was retitled to its current name to reflect the prioritization of today’s challenges related to information and cyberspace. As it has done since its founding, the CIC is updating its curriculum and activities to meet the needs of the national security community. Faculty include numerous PhDs and practitioners, including military officers who bring a fresh perspective into the classroom during their tour.
