Kirkham Grammar School is an Independent Co-educational Day and Boarding School for pupils aged 3-18. The school prides itself on its warm family atmosphere while academic success is at the heart of the school’s aims and it has recently enjoyed record-breaking GCSE and A-level results. In its recent ISI Inspection the school was described as "a friendly, supportive community, based on mutual regard, which provides a caring, inclusive environment, in which all pupils are helped to grow in self‑confidence and self-esteem and develop their individual talents". This balance is achieved through the provision of a wide array of extra-curricular activity to complement the pupils’ learning within the classroom. The school therefore provides a breadth of activity for all, encouraged and supported by a dedicated team of staff. The school has undergone a transformation over the last decade and boasts a host of magnificent new facilities. The teaching provision includes a completely new block of twelve interactive classrooms and a science block designed to meet the needs of the large number of pupils who pursue studies in this area. Sporting facilities are outstanding with a floodlit All Weather surface and Lawrence House Pavilion. Drama provision has been enhanced by the fine studio dedicated to Theatre Studies. Most recently the school has developed its Sixth Form Centre, built a new Music Centre and new Sports Hall. Kirkham Grammar Junior School has a co-educational roll of 270 pupils aged from 3-11 years in its infant, junior and pre-school departments. The Junior School is equipped with excellent modern facilities, including state of the art technology and design equipment. The Junior School has a pre-school, designed to the highest specification, for children aged three and four years old. The facilities include a fully equipped playroom where children are able to access a range of resources and materials to support play and learning.
