Ricardy Anderson for School Board
www.ricardy4masonkids.comDr. Ricardy Anderson is the Democrat-endorsed candidate for Fairfax County School Board, Mason District. Vote November 5, 2019. "As an educator, parent of two elementary school students, community volunteer, a veteran of the National Guard Army Reserve, and first-generation American, I will use my background and experiences to serve as a strong advocate for students and teachers. As an experienced school administrator and long-time resident of the Mason District, I believe that I can bring positive changes to Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) and continue the progress started by Ms. Evans, including fully implementing the vision of One Fairfax. I believe in the power of public education. I want to add my efforts to ensure that my children, along with all children in Mason District, are equitably afforded all the opportunities that exist within FCPS. Like many of our Mason District families, my family emigrated to the United States. Although my parents were not college graduates, they understood the value of education. With their encouragement, grants, a scholarship from the Army, part-time jobs, and determination, I went on to earn degrees from SUNY College at Buffalo (Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education), Howard University (Master in Education), and the University of the Pacific (Ed.D. in Educational Administration). I started as an elementary school teacher and pursued a path in administration. During a career that spans over 20 years, I have held numerous leadership roles in various school districts, including leading the establishment of a new public school in Loudoun County. During my tenure, my teams and I have been recognized by the Virginia Department of Education with the Virginia Index of Performance Board of Excellence Award, Virginia Board of Education Excellence Award, and the Virginia Governor’s Award for Educational Excellence."
