Beit Ruth for Young Women and Girls At Risk
www.beitruth.comOver 30,000 girls in Israel are deemed at-risk by the Ministry of Welfare. Tragically, this issue is considered low-priority, resulting in exhausted state-run facilities. Beit Ruth aims to meet the unique educational needs of at-risk girls while remaining sensitive to therapeutic goals and social/emotional capabilities and to provide the tools to support for the future. Beit Ruth Village is a long-term therapeutic residence for girls aged 13 - 18 who have been removed from their homes by court order due to physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Led by a professional all-female staff, Beit Ruth ensures that all physical welfare needs are met (including shelter, food, clothing, and healthcare), while implementing a coordinated curriculum that combines intensive on-site academic programming with integrated therapeutic programs (including individual, group art, music, equine, horticulture therapies). Our advocacy work extends beyond the Village, allowing us to effect greater change at the systemic level by helping to shape policy; provide an understanding of needed resources; mobilize various stakeholders; and partner with community, state, and international leaders. Our Village programs and services and our advocacy work are both a part of our mission to end the cycle of violence.
