We are a social enterprise. We provide a practical solution to support the mental health needs for pupils, staff and parents tailored to each school and college’s unique needs. We research, design and implement innovative, system changing solutions that make a difference for schools and colleges. We have won two national awards for our work in the first 18 months of founding. Our work is vital as mental health issues are becoming more common and greater in severity. Yet, schools and colleges are willing and ready to lead this agenda but sometimes need guidance, support and confidence to do so. Minds Ahead have worked with school groups, local authorities, universities and other colleagues to assist their work on mental health. We provide evidence based and policy aligned mental health development to programmes to almost 2000 governors headteachers, senior school leaders, teachers and school support staff. We speak at events, run workshops and training programmes. We provide consultancy, research and design. We have a record of driving innovative changes. We have researched, designed and developed: - a widely recognised leadership development programme for the school mental health lead. - the UK's only Masters qualification in School Leadership of mental health, which we continue to deliver. - Quality Award for Mental Health in Schools, which has been used by 700+ schools across the UK and abroad to evaluate and improve their mental health practices. - a mental health curriculum for 14-18 year olds, which was rolled out across the UK - an Early Years Mental Health Learning for childcare professionals. We are looking towards the next challenge and following extensive research, we have designed a new role to shape mental health in schools: the School Mental Health Specialist.
