Dale Thomson founded the Australian Wine & Food Company in 1998. Our goal was to promote quality Australian producers through an original 100% Australian gift hamper to benefit both regional businesses and metropolitan recipients. Through the process of promoting our gift hampers to Melbourne corporate groups we found an overwhelming appreciation of Australian regional businesses and their commitment to the production of quality food and beverages produced here in Australia. “We discovered that city people were having difficulty in accessing our quality Australian country produce” To bridge this disconnection we set about securing new metropolitan venues to taste, promote and sell a wider range of Australian produce. We provided infrastructure, professional staffing, licensing, permits and logistical support for Australian food and beverage businesses to present and sell their products to the metropolitan market. A weekly calendar of market locations is now listed on our website, and we welcome producers and visitors to participate in our Australian Wine & Food events to support Australian businesses and enjoy our world class produce.
