We are a community-supported non-profit grantmaking organization started by activists who knew first hand that Idaho needed its own base of support for grassroots social change work. We combine donations progressive individuals and businesses to support community-led efforts for human rights and environmental integrity, support the training and leadership development necessary to strengthen this work, and cultivate the conditions that make lasting, long-term change possible. Our grants support grassroots organizations with little or no access to other financial resources and that are often too small, too new, or working on issues too controversial for traditional funding sources. We focus on supporting community-based organizations working for human rights (empowering Idaho’s many marginalized communities and assuring economic fairness) and environmental integrity. Fund for Idaho brings together those who want to invest in justice with those who are actively pursuing justice. We invest in Idaho’s future by supporting projects that seek out the root causes of social problems and pose new solutions. Our community-based strategic philanthropy offers a unique alternative to traditional charitable giving.
