Indian Institute of Information Technology Tiruchirappalli (IIITT) is one among the 18 IIITs proposed under the non-profit Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model by MHRD, Govt. of India. IIITT is an Institute of National Importance and an autonomous academic institute funded by Govt. of India, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, and industry partners. IIIT Trichy is currently being mentored by National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli which is one of the premier Institute in the country. NIT Tiruchirappalli provides academic and administrative support to the IIITT. The institute is housed inside NIT Trichy campus and the students have access to their state of the art facilities.
