Information Technology Services - Instructional Media Services (Wesleyan University)

ITS offers invaluable training and job experience in a variety of technical areas which include working with Help Desk, Instructional Media Support, Desktop Support Services, Technical Sales Support and Wesleyan Station. ITS's Instructional Media Services (IMS) is a team of talented and passionate students who provide both classroom and special events support. In the classroom support sector, students help staff M-F 9am-5pm through a classroom support hotline. They learn how to install, troubleshoot and maintain classroom equipment and apply those skills to keep campus technology up and running. IMS is also responsible for programing advanced control devices and related software, participating in other programming projects, as well as researching and developing ways to incorporate new multimedia technology into the classrooms. In the special events sector, students assist in the set-up and support of various types of audio visual and computer equipment for recordings, class presentations, lectures, concerts and other campus events. IMS works directly with clients in a fast-paced environment, learning problem-solving skills and a technical understanding of A/V equipment in the process. Students have the opportunity to undertake: Videography, Audio Reinforcement, Live Webcasting, Logistics and Project Planning. They may also learn to use Final Cut Pro Studio, will perform video production and design, as well as carry out indoor and outdoor AV system implementations.
