With a view to enrich the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir with the education of Science & Technology, Engineering faculty, bearing the name of Ali Ahmed Shah University College of Engineering & Technology, was established in 1980. The college catered for the requirements of the students in the realm of science & technology under the auspices of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University. This college, located in the beautiful city of Mirpur, proved to be a worthy seat of learning for engineer graduates in five disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Basic Sciences and Computer Science and Information Technology. Meritorious services rendered by this Technical institution are virtually laudable. The students having been bestowed upon degrees in their respective disciplines, mentioned above, are serving the nation enthusiastically, at home and abroad. Keeping in view the standard and requirements, this college has very recently been upgraded as Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) Mirpur A.K through ordinance XVIII of 2008 on 15th day of August 2008. The objective laid down in ordinance is “To enhance facilities for higher education and research in the state of Azad Jammu & Kashmir”.
