In early 1987, Richard Todd was employed as the Operations Manager for Beaufort Shipping Inc. In this capacity Mr. Todd earned the trust, respect and confidence of ship owners, charterers, and shippers worldwide. Based on these strong personal relationships, and the unique and comprehensive services Mr. Todd provided , many became Beaufort Shipping clients. This resulted in a rapid expansion of the client base for Beaufort Shipping. At the end of the first quarter in 1987 Beaufort Shipping suddenly and unexpectedly closed its doors and filed for bankruptcy. Feeling a moral and ethical responsibility to his clients, Mr. Todd formed Todd Maritime Services on April 6, 1987. His timely action insured that his trusted clients were not affected by the collapse of Beaufort Shipping.
