The Institute of Experimental Pharmacology & Toxicology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences has been established in 1969. Currently, it consist of 9 departments: Cellular Pharmacology, The Department of Pharmacology of Excitable Tissues, The Department of Pharmacology of Inflammation, The Department of Biochemical Pharmacology, The Department of Developmental and Behavioral Toxicology, The Department of Toxicology and Laboratory Animal Breeding, The Laboratory of Cell Cultures, The Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry of Drugs and Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology.
