Aghetto S.r.l is an Italian company owner of an international patent for a new and innovative syringe able to significantly reduce needle-stick injuries. It is statistically recognized that there are more than three million needle-stick injuries in the world yearly. Healthcare professionals are exposed to contagious diseases such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, AIDS, and many others. Being aware of this issue, a group of Italian doctors and entrepreneurs invented a syringe called Aghetto that can be used with only one hand. Aghetto is equipped with a plastic “collar” capable of segregating its main components that allows an easier and safer usage and disposal of the syringe. In addition, manufacturers can easily implement the device in the production line without a relevant increase of the costs.
