GCR’s mission is to improve the condition of the girl child through empowerment, knowledge, greater access to quality health, social and protective services. GCR’s work focuses on HIV prevention and treatment services, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) prevention, response and reporting. Their advocacy focuses on Menstrual Hygiene and Ending Child Marriage. Central Mozambique is a focal point for GCR’s work, which covers the Manica, Sofala and Zambezia provinces. It is one of leading organizations campaigning for free provision of sanitary pads and ending child marriage in Mozambique and in the Sub region. Since 2014, GCR has reached over 200,000 AGYW in poor and vulnerable communities of central Mozambique with various services like School re-integration, HIV and TB education, prevention and treatment child rights education, life skills, GBV screening prevention and response, comprehensive education on SRHR, and PSS. GCR is part of national and regional networks like SRAN, NAIMA+, Sub Regional Hub on SRHR+ and National Civil Society Platform (PLASOC).
