Storytelling began as a prehistoric, worldwide tradition that brought communities closer together through sharing stories, values, and wisdom. Folklight Film Club aims to create a new industry of storytelling through the medium of film and refocus on storytelling's original purpose - bringing communities closer together through our stories, our values, our wisdom, and quality time spent together. Folklight Film Club is a community and values focused independent film company with a subscription structure that allows the films to be inspired and shaped by the communities from which they come. People in one local community, for a membership fee, attend events that keep them connected to the making of a narrative feature film that's inspired by their personal stories and identities. These membership fees support the member events and the making of the film, then a portion of the proceeds from our films will go to the local schools or community service organizations that members choose.
