NEX employs 750 employees with a total of 994,000 square feet at five locations. In the past eighteen months, the company has developed 200 additional jobs and has increased its reach with both customers and the community. NEX plans to continue its growth with a goal to reach 1.3 million square feet and more than 1,000 associates by the year 2020. In 1989, NEX Transport Inc. (NEX) began its legacy as a warehousing operation in East Liberty, OH for an automotive manufacturer as a joint venture between Nippon Express (worldwide logistics and freight forwarding) and Nittsu Shoji (packaging specialist). At the time, the plant operated on 82 acres and 100,000 square feet of building space. Within one year NEX landed a contract to provide aftermarket packaging services to a lighting company. This venture grew rapidly and NEX soon attracted additional business, developing NEX as a key establishment for central Ohio and the community.
