S4L: SPREADING PASSION AND INSPIRATION BY CONNECTING THROUGH EDUTAINMENT 4LIFE In 1999 Michelle Korevaar embarked on her journey as an entrepreneur, leaving behind a successful corporate career in Senior Brand Management. Her dream was to merge her skillset and passion into a career; connecting the consumer, marketer and NGO’s in relevant ways. SPICE was born and six years later saw the transformation of Spice into SPICE4LIFE (S4L) and the launch of The Online Magazine, www.spice4life.co.za. The Online Magazine started off as an online website to share relevant, helpful and inspiring information to women across South Africa, and has grown into a beautiful brand, that is authentic in the fact that the main aim is to positively touch people’s lives. During the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup, Michelle with the assistance of her family, team and community, set out into the Dunoon Community to get into the “waka waka” spirit, and soon realised the “time was now”; Ke Nako! Community work was an everyday occurrence within S4L with many non-profit projects being given assistance over the years. It was here, that the SPICE4LIFE Youth Academy was established. In 2012 it officially received its non-profit registration. With frequent upgrades, S4L has evolved and now serves as The Content Generation Hub (The Hub) to give voice to the community of expertise from around the world that want to build their online status while sharing interesting content with our strong readership. WE have an exciting 2015 Intern team project for which we are looking for the “Best of Breed” – in other words, “young talent” that have something special to bring to this world class highly-challenging project, whereby we will innovate the mainstream way of doing online business and moving to lead in a new social entrepreneurial way. We are going to push the boundaries and prove that through open source technology and globalisation empowerment doesn’t need a visa.
