Houria CIC is a Bristol-based anti-slavery and anti-racism organisation that trains and hires female survivors of slavery in a Pan-African catering company. Houria was founded in 2020 by three people of colour living in Bristol who share a pain and a passion for refugee women’s rights. They pooled their resources to create a food-centric enterprise that would tackle social isolation, discrimination and financial insecurity. Houria is a black-owned business that provides skills sharing, safe employment and sisterhood for refugee and asylum seeking women and female survivors of modern slavery in Bristol.
