Founded in the early 1980s as a nonprofit, Georgia REAL’s mission was to help individuals, schools, communities, and rural America grow through hands-on entrepreneurship education. The organization is now expanded to serve all types of communities both statewide, nationally, and internationally, and with this extension brings a new name to better represent our vision and the global community we serve. Real LEDGE, standing for Leading Economic Development through Global Entrepreneurship, is committed to preparing youth and adults to be active, self-sufficient, and productive citizens and effective contributors to community and economic development by: creating and sustaining an international network of dynamic entrepreneurship educators supported by effective member organizations, providing high quality, hands-on entrepreneurship curriculum and training for K-12 and post-secondary educators, advocating for experiential education and entrepreneurship, and documenting REAL’s effectiveness for students and teachers. REAL serves and supports schools and teachers through nonprofit national and member organizations throughout the United States and abroad.
