We are a group of students excited about the possibilities presented by the beginnings of a Formula SAE team at UL Lafayette. . One of the best ways to learn is by doing. The Formula SAE competition provides students with a way to do exactly that. Formula SAE promotes careers and excellence in not only engineering design and research, but also business administration, team management, public relations, and financial managment as it encompasses all aspects of the automotive industry including product research and development, manufacturing, marketing, management and finances. Formula SAE provides students like ourselves the opportunities to apply textbook theories in order to solve real world problems. A dedicated member will often exhibit a more capable mindset when faced with independent thinking or when given a problem to solve due to the nature of being on a Formula SAE Team. Because of this we believe Formula SAE is one of the best ways to facilitate the success of those students who choose to participate and creates an environment that promotes creativity, and motivates students to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
