The Playhouse will be a prominent, distinctive facility in Angus for social and cultural events which will enable audiences and participants to see, experience, learn and create in a safe and welcoming environment. With three beautiful, adaptable cinema screens, two flexible activity rooms, a modern, comfortable café bar and a packed programme of events, workshops, classes and activities aimed at all ages and abilities, The Playhouse is sure to be one of the most exciting new venues for the residents and visitors to Angus & South Aberdeenshire. The brainchild of a local designer David Paton and facilitated by a group of local volunteers, The Playhouse will be a not-for-profit facility run by Managers employed by The Montrose Playhouse Project SCIO Trustees who will retain overall governance. This will ensure that The Playhouse remains a facility which is truly for the community, by the community. The Playhouse will aim to achieve the six qualities of successful places as set out in the Scottish Government‘s Designing Places Guide, being: DistinctiveResource EfficientAdaptableSafe and PleasantWelcomingAccessible
