LUP is part of Leiden University with headquarters and staff at the Leiden University and Leiden University Library. LUP cooperates for editing and production with Leuven University Press and for distribution with the University Press of Chicago and NBN International. The core of the LUP publications consists of peer reviewed material that deals with matters of interest relevant to research and education in the Leiden University Research Profiles: new research and digital issues of concern to scholars, scientists and students. We publish approximately 25 titles a year. The majority of our books is published in English. LUP is an international university press with an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit and the center of a vibrant community of authors. As a result of the strong connection with the Leiden University Library, a focus will be on the digital accessibility and retrievability of published work, for instance through Open Access projects and by the gathering and dessiminating research and manuscripts at the Leiden Repository. This vision will be achieved through focusing in the areas in which Leiden University is widely known for.
