ag.purdue.eduIn the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University, we are actively engaged in advancing research and education in the molecular, cellular, and integrative aspects of human, plant and microbial biochemistry, with a particular expertise in the use of model organisms such as yeast, drosophila, zebrafish and Arabidopsis. We have an excellent undergraduate curriculum in the biochemical life sciences, which prepares students for medical, dental, and graduate schools and for a broad range of careers in life sciences industries. Our proud legacy also includes training graduate students for diverse research careers in academia, government, and the private sector. Research and teaching facilities focus on many exciting areas including virology, bioenergy, molecular genetics, neuroscience, plant metabolism, enzyme/ribozyme mechanism and RNA biology.
