Wayzata Yacht Club
www.wyc.orgThe Wayzata Yacht Club oversees one of the largest sailboat racing programs in the United States. We are located on Lake Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis MN. Our core racing programs include over 65 races each season, conducted primarily in 22-25' keelboats, with participation of over 100 boats. We also host active dinghy racing programs and sponsor racing of 35'-50' boats in the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior through our sister club in Bayfield, WI. Many racing seminars are sponsored by WYC throughout the year. These seminars are ideal for beginner to advanced level sailors, and are a great way to be introduced to our club and the sport of sailboat racing. Youth sailing classes are also taught at our club by the Wayzata Sailing School, a nationally renown and accredited sailing school. The foremost purpose of the Wayzata Yacht Club is the promotion of sailboat racing competition. Through the promotion and development of active and competitive sailboat racing, WYC promotes seamanship and sportsmanship. WYC also seeks generally to promote the development and popularity of the sport of sailing.
