www.michigancio.orgBACKGROUND MichiganCIO is the preeminent executive peer leadership development organization of Michigan chief information officers. Founded in 2003, our membership is comprised exclusively of CIOs (or equivalent executive roles) from public and private companies, government, education, healthcare and non-profit organizations. Our mission is to build a strong, professional community among Michigan's information technology leaders, by providing a forum to share ideas, best practices and experiences relevant to CIOs. We create opportunities for technology leaders to engage in substantive, issues-based discussion related to their industries and profession. Members benefit by collaborating with others, building meaningful relationships, and promoting professional development through executive events that facilitate valuable interaction among senior-level experts. MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION Members must be a Michigan-based CIO or equivalent senior technology leader for an organization with at least $100 million annual revenue. Organizations over $1 billion qualify for a second membership and organizations over $5 billion may enroll a third member – provided the organization’s primary technology leader is a member in good standing. ABOUT THE ORBIE AWARDS Established in 1998, the Georgia CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program of its kind. This annual event honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.
