Forestry Australia (formerly know as Institute of Foresters of Australia & Australian Forest Growers) is a professional association with approximately 1,000 members. Our members are forest scientists, professionals, managers and growers operating in all aspects of forest and natural resource management throughout Australia. We advocate for and provide professional development to ensure balanced, integrated forested land use, as well as sustainable management that meets community and environmental needs. We use Forestry Australian social media channels to share stories, discuss forest science and forestry issues, share articles and ideas as well as promote the work of Forestry Australia. We welcome people’s comments and contributions to this discussion as well as encourage diverse points of view and robust debate. Participation in our Social Media channels is based around the following principles, anyone who is unable or unwilling to abide by these principles may have their post deleted and may be blocked by an admin without notice. Be respectful and courteous: Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but respect is required. No hate speech, abuse or bullying: Bullying and abuse of any kind isn't allowed. Degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated. People are entitled to different points of view and abuse of another with a different opinion will not be tolerated. Making a contribution to these discussions requires mutual trust.
