Ty Cariad Africa
www.tycariadafrica.orgTŷ Cariad Africa is a registered charity in England and Wales (1124100) which exists to raise awareness and funds to support the work of Victory Child Care Project – Ty Cariad, (a Children’s Home approved by the Ministry of Gender in Uganda), and other similar minded organisations helping orphans and vulnerable children. Our aim is to help relieve poverty, sickness and distress, and to provide access to education amongst orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda. We do not own or run children's homes or any institutions, but work closely with overseas partner organisations to achieve our aims. We pride ourselves in our strong relationships with our partners. Each of our partners employ local professionals which means that, each child referred for support can be assessed locally and their needs met in an appropriate manner, no matter what their background may be. Our partners promote family-based care where possible, and actively look to trace, re-link and reunify children in their families and extended communities if it is in the best interest of the child to do so. Local people are empowered to deliver a quality service, which has been recognised at government level. The main organisation we support is Victory Child Care Project – Ty Cariad (VCCP) in Namugongo, near Kampala in Uganda. We also support similar organisations throughout Uganda.
