Let's spill the chai (Indian word for tea) and share with you what we have been brewing. We are a local, female-owned, small business, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We love to travel, chat, colour & create.  Like many millions across the globe we too, were affected by the pandemic. After more than 20years in corporate we found ourselves unemployed. Over many pots of chai, lengthy chats and much deliberation ensued. We decided to take a leap of faith and pursue our long-term dream to start our own company using our vast experience in fashion, retail and marketing.  We finally launched our online store in 2021.  Let's do chai is best described as a "modern, traditionalist" brand.  We have created bespoke ranges of clothing, homeware, accessories and inspitationery (inspirational stationery) that are inspired by and a fusion of, our South African lifestyle, nationality and Indian heritage.  We do not mass produce, rather our approach embodies slow fashion. Timeless, Contemporary (and slightly boho) styling - rich in colour, texture and prints. We mostly use cotton fabrics that are either hand printed with organic dyes, using traditional artisanal block printing or handloom techniques and embroidery. Wood and paper products are handmade. All our products are ethically sourced from small communities. Every purchase you make also supports artisans & their families, from these communities, to preserve their traditional crafts, skills and to sustain their livelihood.
