In comparison with other Swedish ports, Port of Ystad is ranked third concerning ferry passengers, fifth concerning trucks and trailers and eleventh when it comes to the total amount of goods tonnage yearly. For several years, the port has broken new records and, despite the pandemic, in 2020 a new all time high regarding personal cars to Bornholm was set. Late 2020, a new high speed craft service entered en route Ystad-Sassnitz and this is now the fastest connection between Sweden and the continental Europe.
