The Good Food Project

www.milaap.org

A group of volunteers got together on 2 May 2021 and decided to start the “The Good Food Project'' with the immediate objective of providing meals and other essentials like PPE equipment to crematorium and cemetery workers. The two raised a crowdfunding appeal and in a matter of 48 hours managed to raise Rs.15 lacs. They have gone ahead and raised a petition on Change.org to get these workers vaccinated on priority. Currently the project has more than 30 on-ground volunteers who have divided themselves into groups of 2 or 3 to visit and distribute food to the various crematoriums. More than two dozen volunteers have joined to support at the back end and ensure logistics, procurement and social media remotely. The team has members working from Bombay, Panipat, Paris, Toronto among other locations. Further, the Good Food Project expanded to provide food and ration to low income families as well as help the residents of Khori village, Faridabad, who's homes were demolished without rehabilitation which led to almost 1000 families being homeless in the area.
