Ocean Racers is an international sailing team and network, dedicated to advancing the sport of ocean racing. The team offers sail racing events and training for amateur to professional crew looking to compete in world-class regattas and races. The team currently manages a Pogo 12.50, Hermes, a Class 40 ocean racing boat with a cruising interior. Ocean Racers competes in a variety of inshore and offshore events in the US, Caribbean and Europe in which it offers teams and individuals the opportunity to apply and race with the program. The team is always mixed (male & female), international and skippered by Under 30 sailors Meg Reilly and Morgen Watson. Originally established in 2015 as Canadian Ocean Racing, the Ocean Racers team has expanded its mission to develop the sport of ocean racing in Canada and beyond. The team has always been focused on youth development and provides scholarships for the team's "Aspiring Offshore Athletes." Ocean Racers started with an ambitious IMOCA 60 campaign, O Canada, and raised over $250,000 to compete on behalf of Canada in the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre and Transat B to B Races. The team's vision is to one day compete in the Volvo Ocean Race and find the right sponsors and partners to do so on their own accord. With the strength of the team's growing international sailor network, Ocean Racers aims to build the next generation of the world's ocean racers.
