Founded over 40 years ago by Sir Hamid, Chambers were the first organised barristers’ Chambers in Mauritius and remain the prominent provider of litigation and arbitration services on the Island. The expertise of the 17 members of Chambers, including 2 QCs and 1 SC, covers the whole spectrum from civil to criminal law, with a particular emphasis on commercial law, aviation, banking, construction law, insurance, public and constitutional law, and trust and tax law. Members of Chambers appear regularly before every Mauritian Court (including unparalleled expertise in the Privy Council), as well as every domestic and international arbitration forum, and include the draftsmen of the Mauritius International Arbitration Act 2008.
