KIDS CONNECTION HAITI was founded to help underprivileged youth in Haiti by creating life changing opportunities. Where lots of wonderful organizations help orphaned, abandoned and poor children, many older ones, teenagers and young adults, have no way out of poverty. Focusing on post-orphanage services, KCH provides support for the next step in life and by doing so we offer a unique, innovative program that will help young Haitians close the gap between childhood and an independent, adult life. Our mission is to empower orphans in Haiti to become contributing, self-sufficient members within their communities through education, life skills training, community service, mentorship, and career development. The largest group of KCH beneficiaries consists of orphans and young adults living in extreme poverty whom we are helping with educational support, divided in three different levels; high school, vocation education/professional courses and university. All of the students receive financial support for school tuition and fees, books, uniforms, transportation and tools or equipment if necessary. We are also assessing their living situation and when in a temporary shelter, KCH helps them move into a more stable and secure home. Alongside supporting students through formal education and vocational training, KCH provides programs focused on career development, basic lifeskill workshops, networking and internship procurement to increase students opportunities for successfully securing employment. 93% of KCH graduates obtain paid employment within three months of graduation. We envision a Haiti in which youth are guided into adulthood with the educational foundations necessary to inform a life path of their choosing.
