The Construction Education Center, Inc. (CEC) is a non-profit training organization located in Plainville, CT. The CEC was approved by the Connecticut Commissioner of Higher Education to operate as a private occupational school on January 11, 2007. This distinction signifies that the CEC is authorized to offer post-secondary training programs in Connecticut. Founded by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut (CT ABC), the CEC is accredited by NCCER. NCCER develops standardized construction and maintenance curriculum and assessments with portable credentials . NCCER has led the industry in construction training since 1996. All courses provided by the CEC are taught by qualified trades people, professionals, and/or professors of construction management programs. The CEC offers apprenticeship programs in the Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal trades along with professional development courses. The CEC is an approved provider of Continuing Education Unit courses by the State of Connecticut for Licensed Plumbers and Electricians.
