Kentucky Mountain Health Alliance - Little Flower Clinic
www.kymha.orgThe Kentucky Mountain Health Alliance was formed in 2005 and began to serve as a single point of entry for the Healthcare for the Homeless program, the Little Flower Free Clinic, and for the Rotary Free Clinic services. The Kentucky Mountain Health Alliance (KYMHA) is the product of many individual projects uniting under the common goal of providing quality healthcare to the under-served. It is the vision of the KYMHA to ensure access for all people and eliminate disparities through the provision of quality holistic care in an integrated system of services for the citizens of Southeastern Kentucky. In the spring of 2012, the KYMHA was pleased to move into the newly renovated Little Flower Clinic facility. The counties in which the KYMHA serve are among some of the unhealthiest in the nation. Both Perry and Harlan Counties are far above the national average for diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and obesity. This coupled with high unemployment rates and high poverty levels make the KYMHA an incredibly important healthcare resource in the region. By providing access to healthcare, the KYMHA hopes to improve the health and wellness of Southeaster Kentuckians. Improve the health and well –being of Southeast Kentucky citizens who are under-served or at risk for homelessness in a respectful manner through a coordination of quality holistic services.
