Our mission. The International Search and Rescue Dog Organisation is a non-profit organisation ensuring uniform, global quality standards in the training of search and rescue dogs. Our work. We aim to train and certify highly qualified search and rescue dog teams and to provide them as supporting units in case of emergency. Thanks to their fine nose, dogs often become lifesavers after avalanches, earthquakes or in the search for missing children, hikers and disoriented people suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia. The search and rescue dog teams are on standby twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year to help people in need. Our vision. Save human lives. The International Search and Rescue Dog Organisation is a global network with more than 120 member organisations and about 2,000 certified search and rescue dogs, united by the common goal of saving human lives with the help of dogs.
