Propel Schools Foundation
www.propelschools.orgThe Propel Schools Foundation supports the Propel Schools' mission of catalyzing the transformation of public education so that all children have access to high-performing public schools. Propel has become one of the state’s largest set of public charter schools with a network of 13 schools in Allegheny County. We were founded in 2003 with the mission to provide high-quality schools to underserved communities. Over the years, we have grown from serving 180 to 4,000 scholars annually in grades K-12. - While Propel’s curriculum follows the PA State Standards, our schools are innovative, dynamic learning places where scholars, teachers, families, and collaborators work together to inspire each scholar toward academic excellence, community service, and personal empowerment. But what makes Propel so special? These and many other programs holistically address our scholars’ and families’ needs, all at no cost to our families: • K-2 Literacy overcomes low Kindergarten readiness levels with intensive literacy efforts to have scholars read proficiently by Grade 3. • Scholar Opportunities offers STEM partnerships, college tours, Career Pathways (scholars earn up to 31 college credits in nursing, IT & business), and other specialized learning experiences that help prepare scholars for their future academic and career journeys. • Afterschool is an expansive academic and enrichment learning during out-of-school time. • Partners in Wellness provides mental/behavioral health services, health and wellness offerings, food pantries, and other supports in our schools for Propel scholars, families, and neighbors. • Performing Arts Academy offers this valuable arts opportunity for middle/high school scholars to encourage character development, self-awareness, and community engagement. • Power of Propel Scholarships and other scholarships donated by people like you are offered to Propel seniors and enable greater success in their choice of higher education.
