Hudson Valley Honor Flight
www.hvhonorflight.comHudson Valley Honor Flight (“HVHF”) honors American Veterans for all their sacrifices. We bring Veterans from the Hudson Valley on an unforgettable one-day trip to Washington, D.C. to be honored at their memorials. All Veterans go on this journey of honor at absolutely no cost to them. Currently we fly four times a year; twice from Stewart Airport, and twice from Westchester Airport. The day begins with an amazing motorcycle escort to the airport, followed by a Send Off ceremony – giving the veterans a small glimpse into the exciting day ahead of them. While in Washington DC, the group visits the memorials built in their honor and Arlington National Cemetery to see the Changing of the Guard. Our group is hailed with applause and admiration at every stop, giving these heroes the recognition they rightfully deserve. We keep the veterans on their toes, throwing in many surprises throughout the day. The experience is concluded when the veterans arrive back in NY, and are greeted by hundreds of community members cheering them on. For many, it is the Welcome Home Reception they never received. Top priority is given to those veterans of the Greatest Generation, that of WWII, and terminally ill veterans from other wars. We have begun to take Korean War veterans on this memorable journey, and will eventually move on to the Vietnam War, as well.
