www.benmerens.com

Ben shares his communication skills and talents with clients that stem from a 35-year career of broadcasting, writing, and teaching. Ben also has an extensive history in public speaking and communications training. Ben works with non-profit organizations to help them share the story they want to tell in ways that it will be emotive, meaningful and memorable. Ben's clients include the Gift of Hope organ donation organization in Chicago; Versiti in Milwaukee; and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southeastern Wisconsin. Ben helps non-profits share their stories and the stories of clients by conducting in-depth interviews and then turning the stories he gathers into five minute scripts that your organization or client can share in order to share your impact in your community. Ben also is available to speak at your next annual meeting or conference. He can address: The Role of Storytelling to Further Your Mission; How to Actively Listen to Improve How Your Are Heard: The Role of Storytelling in Great Caregiving. He certainly can tailor his message to best meet your needs. In his speaking career, Ben has delivered hundreds of keynotes and workshops to organizations such as: GE Medical, Aurora Health Care and The Wisconsin Association of Manufacturer’s Agents – and has been a faculty member at Hofstra University, Columbia College, Concordia University and Marquette University. Ben also is an accomplished acoustic musician and improvisational singer-songwriter. Prior to his career in helping business leaders be more effective communicators, Ben spent 21 years at Wisconsin Public Radio where he hosted and helped produce “At Issue,” a two-hour daily current events call-in program and “Everybody’s Business,” a business-focused talk show. Ben's broadcasting and media career also allow him to offer media coaching to executives and spokespeople who would like to improve how they come across when involved in any form of interview process.
